Ojha Receives the Poet of the Year Award from Philippines

Kathmandu. Zezabek Words and Poems, a literary organization based in the Philippines, which includes poets from more than 100 countries around the world, has honored Nepalese poet Saroj Ojha with the Poet of the Year Award. Poet Saroj Ojha, who has been writing poetry in the English medium, has been honored with this award along with Poets from other countries. Including Nepal, Philippines, India, United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Japan, Nigeria, Slovakia, Poland, Canada, Greece, Egypt, Italy, Romania, Mariana Islands, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cyprus, Kenya, Portugal, Haiti, The poets of Yemen, Australia and other countries are associated with Zezabek Verses and Poems.

Zezabek Marhmark, the founder of Zezabek Words and Poems, said that the award was given as an appreciation of literary works in honor of Atal’s literary works. “The way poets have shown their creativity to the world while serving the entire literature through emotional words is the greatest work in itself. We are grateful to them,” she said.

Poet Saroj Ojha has also expressed his commitment to continue his pen by taking inspiration from world literature, saying that such awards will encourage him to be more active in writing literature.

A brief introduction to poet Saroj Ojha

Born in Vyas 5 of Tanahun, Saroj Ojha has been active in literary work for the past decade. Ojha’s creations, which have been drawing poems and stories in both Nepali and English languages, have been published in Nepali as well as international media. Also, he is the International Peace Ambassador of The Daily Global Nation, an international English daily newspaper published from Bangladesh. Ojha is also the press and publication committee coordinator in the national working committee of the United Nations International Human Rights Organization (UNIP) Nepal Chapter. Ojha, who has been working as a press expert and consultant in various organizations, has the experience of acting as a judge in movies and other competitive shows.

Ojha is the presenter and director of the program Sachetna, which is broadcasting on Wednesday night at 9:15 PM on Nepal Television news channel. He has produced and directed a total of eight diverse programs ranging from children’s programs to business, peace, travel and reality shows. Ojha is the General Secretary of Everest Press Club, an associate organization of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists. He has also worked as the editor of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality, Federation of Exporters Nepal and various online magazines and various books.

In terms of literature, Ojha has received the Bhanushree Award established in the name of Rabindra Nath Tagore from India, Zezabek Laurent Award from the Philippines and various awards from the World Forum including the Global Writers Academy. Similarly, Ojha, who was honored by Nepal Television on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of Nepal Television for being active in producing programs for Nepal Television for 15 years, has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Television Award 2023 in Mumbai, India, UPPA Award 2023 from Uttar Pradesh Artist Academy in Lucknow and Human Rights honor from the World Human Rights Council and Guest of Honor at ‘Mahatma Gandhi Excellence Award 2023’ in New Delhi, MSN Excellence Award 2019 in Alexandria, Egypt, ‘UNPKFC Humanitarian Award 2022’ from United Nations Peacekeepers Federal Council headquartered in Thailand. Similarly, he has received Taan Tourism Award from Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, FEEN Award from Federation of Exporters, Economic Journalism Award from Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce, etc.
